It is with mixed feelings that we put the summer wax on our skiis and hang the snowshoes for that last time this winter. But the Voyageur in all of us feels that call of the woods as the scents and sounds of spring beckon us to return. The birds are chirping and the creeks are running. At lower elevations the spring flowers are itching to push through the dirt and show the world their beautiful soft green glow. I find myself thinking about refinishing paddles, polishing scratches from Kevlar and searching for that new piece of gear that will enhance my adventures in the woods this summer. These my friends, are signs that spring is upon us. It is time to begin putting all those winter plans for adventure into action!
